It seems that some one put a spell on us this month. After our planned gig at Blijburg, this is the second gig that’s being cancelled. We’re trying our best to reschedule the date, so we’ll probably still play Bitterzoet one of the coming weeks. Just not the 16th of September. We’ll keep you posted!

We uploaded some footage of our Lowlands adventure. In our ‘Music & Video’ section you can watch a compilation of our concert in the OgonoNogo stage on Friday night. We got introduced by Sander Lantinga from BNN television and radio and got to play right after The Kooks & The Opposites. Sound and image may be a bit off, but it’s the thought that counts!

Eventhough our E.P. is still being finished, Zorita already appears on two compilation CD’s that came out this summer. Our songs “Señor Presidente” and “Lost at Sea” feature on these CD’s. More information can be found on our discography page.

On this year’s edition of Lowlands we had a blast with the whole band and really got the crowd warmed up. We performed right after The Kooks (UK) and The Opposites (NL) on the OgonoNogo stage. For all of us this was the highlight of the year sofar. You can check out our Lowlands adventure on our ‘images’ page and soon we’ll post a video of our performance.

We’re sorry to inform you that our concert on the beach of Blijburg next Sunday the 29th is cancelled. The programmer of the venue made a double booking and found out too late. But no wories, we play plenty of shows the upcoming weeks!

SSSSST! You haven’t heard it from us, but Zorita is playing at Holland’s most popular festival this year. On friday the 20th of august we will be giving a “surprise” performance at LOWLANDS 2010 on the OgoNonogo Stage (aka Magneet Bar).  Somewhere between 23h and 1h we’ll mount the stage and contribute to the fiesta, so make sure you make it!!

We did it again! This week the selection of semi-finalists of Holland’s biggest band competition was anounced on national radio and guess what? Exactly. Zorita is one of the lucky 12 bands to have passed the quarter finals. From over 1000 applying bands we’ve survived so far. We’ll be competing for a place in the finals on the 23rd of September at the Speakers Café in Delft. ¡ Arriba !

Finally the time has come that Zorita is recording their first EP. From July 7th until 11th we’ll be recording 5 to 6 tracks in the Legacy studio’s near Amsterdam. At the end of August or early September you will be able to purchase it online here and on i-Tunes, buy it at our concerts or purchase it in some select record stores. ¡ Ay Caramba ! The good news just seems to keep on coming! Zorita is now also selected for the POPRonde 2010, an organization that promotes a select amount of bands throughout Holland by facilitating concerts throughout the country. In a couple of months we’ll know where we’ll be playing. So keep an eye on our concert dates to see if we’re coming to your town during our mission to conquer Holland!
