In some cases one lifetime is just too short to accomplish all one’s goals. This certainly is the case for Joost. For years he has been breeding on his debut as a writer, aimed at transcending Marcel Proust’s A la Recherche du Temps Perdu and producing the first collection ever of scientific poems. To kill the time, he trains his abdominals, liver and plucks his guitar with Zorita as the uncrowned king of a-rhythmical melodies and dissonant chords. His origins lie in Broek op Langedijk, a dutch village built on a levy, known for its numerous islands. On one of these islands he spent years in exclusion as a child, where he developed his affinity for the blues. Making his way to Amsterdam on a sloop, he developed a social life and started a successful career as a sociologist.
